BaoSteel Sinter project Engineering


From the end of 1970s, CIE has been supplying engineering service to Baosteel Group for sintering engineering, and has undertaken design for 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase sintering project of Baosteel Group (the techniques and equipment for 1st phase project have been imported from foreign countries), and design for technical and capacity-enlargement reconstruction in these years. The sintering machines in 1st, 2nd and 3rd phases are all 450m2, and this is the maximum area for single sintering lines in China. These machines have been put into use respectively in 1985, 1991 and 1998. Through the three-year capacity-enlargement reconstruction, the area of three sintering machines mentioned above has been nearly 500m2, the production capacity, quality and benefit of them have been improve, and the Employer song high praises on them.

The technology and equipment of the 1st phase project of Baosteel Group was imported from overseas. CIE took part in the design process and the project has won Golden Design Prize on National Excellent Projects; CIE designed the capacity-enlargement reconstruction project and won Silver Design Prize on National Excellent Projects.

Based on the 1st phase of sinter plant, CIE optimize the engineering for the 2nd phase of Bao Steel sinter project (450m2) therefore improved the quality, output and saved the energy. The 2nd phase project of Baosteel Group designed by CIE has won top grade Design Prize on Optimum Project; 

During the design of the 3rd phase of Bao steel sinter project, CIE conduct further optimize based on the experience of the 1st and 2nd Phases project. By the implementation of new patents and know-how technology such as Deep height raw material sintering, Double- inclined-line sintering ignition furnace, Annual cooler waster air recycle, Annual cooler variable frequency speed adjustment and neutron moisture measurement for mixing raw material, the equipment and ECI control level has reached a new standard comparing with the 2nd phase project. The project is a leading project in China and all over the world. The local equipment supply rate has reached 95.16% and the project becomes an example for localization of large sinter plant. The project stably operates after putting into production. Excellent sinter product improves the blaster furnace operation and the main technology & economical index is better than other similar projects in China. The 3rd phase sintering project of Baosteel has won the Silver Design Prize on National Excellent Projects and Grade One Prize of Ministry of Metallurgy;
